A Colombian in the US!!

Embarking on an international venture in renewable energy, I stepped out of my comfort zone into a world of opportunity and adventure. Beyond expanding professional horizons, I embraced cultural diversity and new landscapes. Discovering growth in discomfort, from forging friendships to exploring new territories, every moment abroad offered personal and professional development.

As I embarked on my adventure in the United States, joining Sunstall Inc. for a year-long internship, I was filled with excitement and trepidation. The prospect of diving into the renewable energy industry in the U.S. was exhilarating, yet the enormity of the challenge ahead loomed large. Despite having previously visited the country, everything felt new upon my arrival. It was a new start, being far from my family, loved ones, and culture, added an extra layer of complexity to the adventure.

Over the months, I encountered numerous challenges and unforgettable life experiences that shaped my journey. Amidst the highs and lows, I came close to giving up, but a determination to persevere prevailed. Gradually, I found my footing within the company, the industry, and the country at large. What initially seemed daunting became more manageable over time.

Interns crew. New friends living abroad!

Looking back, I am filled with both joy and nostalgia, reminiscing about the person I was twelve months ago—a mixture of dreams and uncertainties. While many dreams and goals have been realized since the start of this grand adventure, countless more have emerged. Working for a company with such diverse cultural representation has profoundly shifted my perspective on work and global relations.

My experience at Sunstall has not only equipped me with technical skills but has also broadened my understanding of cultural diversity and collaboration. The synergy among colleagues from different backgrounds has been instrumental in my personal and professional growth. Through perseverance and adaptation, I have learned to navigate unfamiliar territory and thrive in a dynamic environment.

There’s always time for a beer after work.

As I bid farewell to Sunstall and look towards the future, I carry with me the lessons learned and the friendships forged. My time here has left an indelible mark on my journey, shaping me into a more resilient, adaptable, and globally-minded individual. With renewed confidence and a broader perspective, I am eager to apply the knowledge and experiences gained during my tenure at Sunstall to contribute meaningfully to the sustainable development landscape in my home country of Colombia and beyond.
