Sun folding system
Sunfolding looks to disrupt the tracker industry with air pneumatics, that’s how PV-magazine describes the company in its article “The company’s flagship product is the T29 solar tracker, which is powered by air pneumatics. Rather than using a traditional motor, the system instead has two flexible bladders, aligned east-west, contained in a metal housing unit. Over the course of the day, the bladders are inflated, tilting the module above to the opposite direction, allowing it to track the sun.”
With this partnership we undertook a pioneering project comprising the installation of 4,256 foundation piles, 315 tables, and 17,010 modules.
Caliche and Refusal Remediaion
Building a solar project on caliche-laden soil throws a curveball.
Pre-drilling the Path to Success: By meticulously analyzing the site, we identified caliche zones beforehand. This intel allowed us to strategically pre-drill specific areas, including crucial foundation spots for “home runs” – the vital energy pathways. This proactive approach saved time and resources, keeping the project on track.
Refusal Mitigation: Our Everyday Expertise: We’re seasoned veterans in the art of refusal mitigation.
Planning for Smooth Sailing: Thorough site analysis and meticulous planning are the cornerstones of our success. By anticipating challenges like caliche, we can tailor our approach, ensuring a smooth and efficient construction process.

Pandemic, a new challenge
Under the guidance of Lorena Norton as the project manager and Jose Dias as the supervisor, our team navigated the unique challenges posed by the pandemic with resilience and determination. Despite the disruptions caused by the global health crisis, our team maintained a strong spirit of collaboration and teamwork, ensuring the successful execution of our solar project. The pandemic necessitated adjustments to our workflow and safety protocols, influencing the pace and dynamics of our work in 2020. However, through effective communication and adaptability, we overcame obstacles and remained focused on achieving our project goals. And sometimes had time for a team diner – obviously keeping distance!!
